SF is an early town, but there are endless bars and clubs. My favorite pubs are local watering holes - the <B>Mauna Loa</B> on Fillmore and Union, <B>Shanghai Kelly's</B> on Polk and Broadway, <B>O'Reilly's</B> on Green and Columbus, the <B>Rex Cafe</B> on Polk and Green, the <B>Bus Stop</B> on Laguna and Union and, of course, <B>Sam's</B> in Tiburon on the warm sunny days. Closer to downtown, check out <B>San Francisco Brewing Company</B> (on Columbus just south of Broadway) which usually isn't very packed but has some very good home-made beer, <B>Pier 23</B> for outdoor seating, food and good music and a great view of the Bay Bridge over to Oakland. Also, the <B>Gordon Biersch</B> brewery has good beer and the food is good too (although it can be a scene during after-work hours).
