Scottsdale (and Phoenix) is such a picturesque place. There is something about the desert that is very relaxing, and the sunsets really are astonishing. Add to that the mountains surroung the Phoenix/Scottsdale area (creating the Valley of the Sun) and it all makes for a phenomenal visual experience.
I've taken a few trips to the area (they were all golf trips - I used to go for long weekends when I lived in San Francisco) and I have not had the opporunity yet to explore places such as the Old Town, or more distant places like the Grand Canyon (soon!).
