Yuzhno - is a little capital of the island.
On the picture you can see the view from my office bldg. which is quite in the center of the town...

Pros and Cons

Pros:Crabs are so delicious, sea is beautiful, autumn till November is quite nice, yellow & warm
Cons:Yuzhno is a bit dirty town with poor infrastructure, lack of variety of good quality food, winter starts at November and ends at the end of April:-(
In a nutshell:Kind of nice place to get exiled to...:-)

See you wre in sunny Sakhalin. Spent a summer and winter there myself. Enjoyed the experience. Nice and cool in the winter with blackouts etc.
