Hello | And you thought you had a bad day... |
Hello, my name's Miles. I live in Davis, California, just a little bit south of Sacramento here in the heart of California, going to university here, studying political science and history as my majors.
Okay, I know I've been lacking as of late--putting up nothing new lately, no pictures--but I promise I'll be doing some serious updating very soon!
I got to say--and I think this rings true for most people who're on this website--that travelling is in our blood. Not only me, but my friends are also addicted to it. Ever since I went to Hawaii for the first time when I was four years old, I've always had this great fascination with going somewhere else and seeing what it's like, to explore places I've never seen, meet new people, be in the places that I've only read about or seen on TV, and to share those experiences with others.
More about me? Okay, to start with, I'm an Anglophile. I like pubs. I like alternative music (for me, the '80s and '90s never died). I like writing. I love slapstick and drama. I like maps. Hell, I even like Smirnoff.
Drop in a note anytime, and I'll be glad to reply.
Take it easy. |

College In trying to be a responsible twenty-something young American urban male professional, school is an upmost priority. Like this picture demonstrates, studying can be a bit of a mind "screw" (I'd put another, more emphasizng word here, but that wouldn't be right on a PG-rated page) at times, especially when you've had four hours of sleep and a venti Starbucks mocha is the only thing you've put in your stomach all day.
| | London I cannot tell you enough how much I love this place. Maybe I'd have a different perspective if I actually grew up and lived there, but for a California kid like myself, London is so big and exotic and old and, well, so London. It's virtually impossible to see everything this place has to offer. |
San Francisco Perhaps being a dye-in-the-wool Californian, there's no escaping San Francisco when you think of fog and bridges in the sensory part of the brain. Again, another city I can just spend hours wandering around, never bored by an inch of it. So much happening in so little a space, and plus the views are always good.
And whatever you do, please don't call it "Frisco." [shudder teeth] | | | Driving through the Golden Gate |

| | Vancouver Vancouver and San Francisco, come to think of it, should really be twin cities. Both got beautiful coast. Both are pretty hip and against the grain. And both got stunning bridges. Vancouver's another place that I could go back to a million times over and never get sick of. The Winter Olympics there in less than a decade's time should be great |
Home Sweet Home Okay, so it isn't London or New York or whatever, but I love Davis. Nice, green and quiet, and close to everything. And the nightlife isn't too shabby either.
