    • The Palace of Versailles. Maybe its not really off the beaten path but as its a little bit outside of Paris and you will need a car ... its at least a little bit off the path. Nevertheless it's absolutely worth a visit. Versailles is a 'should see' if you have been to Paris already and you want to see something new. The gardens are especially beautiful. there you can take a walk, rent a boat or just relax somewhere on the grass.
