This trip is actually the first trip my wife and I had taken as completely regular tourists (package guided tours etc). In late April, the area around Ho Chi Minh city is HOT. Even though we come from another tropical country, I don't think we stopped sweating the whole time we were outside the hotel! The air-conditioning unit in the van we used was not working well. Viet Nam is a very interesting country to us as everything is similar to what we have back home and yet so different. Many of the food, fruits, handicraft etc remind us of home but with that slight uneasy feeling that they don't look 100% right!
