    • In many areas, dress code is important. In strict moslem areas, women should not wear shorts or shirts that show the upper arm. The rule of thumb is easy: if you wonder whether it is proper or not, wear more clothes! In the mountains of Irian Jaya/Papua locals are almost naked but that doesn't mean that you won't get arrested if you try to dress like them! In Bali you cannot enter temples if you're wearing shorts but you can probably rent or borrow a sarong. Menstruating women are also not allowed in the temples.
    During the moslem fasting month you should not eat or drink in public during the day.
