Biak

Biak Island is an interesting place. It has a large airfiled that was built during World War II. Garuda Indonesia used to fly 747s to Hawaii from here but it's now cancelled due to lack of interest. Most of the forest around the town are gone. If you want to see some nature you'll have to head west to Biak Barat (Western Biak). There is a nice waterfall you can visit there. I takes only about an hour from the town of Biak.

The Japanese Cave (Gua Jepang)

During World War II, many Japanese soldiers died here. The cave where they took the last stand is now a tourist attraction.
Inside the museum

The (small) Museum

Near the cave there is a small museum filled with rusting equipment from World War II.
