Ternate-Sidangoli ferry

To get to Pulau Halmahera (Halmahera Island) you will have to go to Ternate first. Then you can take the ferry to Sidangoli or (if there is a flight when you are in Ternate) fly to Galela. You can also get other boats such as smaller fibreglass speedboats to take you across. Most people do not stay in Sidangoli but continue to bigger towns such as Tobelo. There was only minimal lodging facilities when we were there.

Taking the ferry means you won't get wet when you get to Sidangoli. Smaller boats sometimes cannot get you to land directly (during low tide) so you may have to wade in some suspicious looking water.
