Pulau Ternate is the island where the city of Ternate is located. Ternate is the capital of the new Province of North Maluku. It has a very long and interesting history. Ternate had been a trading port for thousands of years. It is estimated that chinese junks since the Han dynasty visited this port for the spice trade. More later.
