nicaragua is beautiful. dont let anyone tell you different
From the port town of san Juan del sur where we almost got killed for mouthing off to a drug dealer, to granada and leon where cultural life is really present and you dont have to look in the nooks and crannies, There are first and foremost volcanos both active and asleep everywhere. We spent some time on the large nacaraguan lake called Lago de nicaragua where we climbed a volcano called Maduras. 4 hours up, 3 hours down, the topwas too cloudy to see anything but its about the trip not the destination dude! so that was awesome, our hotel had a restaurant which was dirt cheap and soo good. We made sure to be up for their breakfasts and to catch the daily soap opera where the re was this woman who could break into tears at any moment. She was the best cryer i had ever seen. I think she was typecast for true.
Anyway, nicaragua has a reputation for being dangerous but believe it or not i felt safer there than anywhere else in central A. except for that incident in san Juan and being hassled by a couple of prostitutes it was great, I even saw the movie Zoolander there for the first time and we were the oonly ones in the theatre except for this other couple who didnt get it at all. Damn third worlders!!
so the moral of my story is.......WATCH ZOOLANDER!
