| | The Hague...is it only a colony of boring bureaucrats and dull diplomats? |
Of course not!
The city also lays claim to being a capital of sculpture.
Unfortunately, most of it is crap. | | | More 'Stinker' than 'Thinker' |
|
| | Here is yet another example of crummy sculpture lying in wait to assault innocent passerby.
Having said all that, The Hague has going in its favour...
...one of the world's finest art galleries; ...a wonderful array of Art Nouveau and Art Deco buildings; ...the Dutch royal pedigree; ...a quaint parliamentary quarter; ...a surprisingly engaging modern art gallery; ...a fab Art Deco cinema; ...great shops, good eateries and a decent brewpub; ...plus you're only 10 minutes by train from dee-lovely Delft.
So it's not all about pencil pushers and clunky sculpture!
This page is nearly done except for some details on our tasty bagel breakfast, plus the meal we had at a fantastic and fun Mexican restaurant. |
