Horse-drawn carriages with steel wheels rumble along the cobbles loud as steam trains and still the coffin maker sleeps, propped against his tools, sat in his dark cave of a workshop.

The cathedral bells toll the hour and the coffin maker waves his arm as if distracted by a fly.

The flea-bit, half-blind alley cats yowl and squabble, but the coffin maker sits and snoozes.

I'm glad the coffin maker is not busy. It means we can all enjoy Valletta for another day.
