jayhawk2000's Montepulciano

by jayhawk2000 - last update: Jun 28, 2006

Tuscany produces some of the world's finest red wines, most famously its Chianti.

Magnificent Montepulciano is home to one of our favourite wines, the Vino Nobile. Montalcino is nearby, with its rival, Brunello. In our rental car we had an easy day out from Arezzo visiting both these wine towns.
Montepulciano has few sights and is largely shut during the siesta, but we spent a lazy midday mooch, sampling wines in the shops and eating lunch.

Jayhawk2000, Thanks for the tip. I head to Montepulciano in a couple weeks (to study Italian) and I plan on picking up several bottles of those 2-pack wine sets -- they make great gifts, I'm sure. Kay Lee

Beautiful pictures - I wanted to visit here too, in addition to Montalcino, since we enjoy this region's wine, too, but we just couldn't fit it all in! I must come back....
