If that did happen then he mearly got shook down. It is not against the law to have a women in your room, even if your not married. Pre marital sex isn't against the law in China.

Probably the worst place in Beijing to pick up chicks is the Holiday Inn. If you stay in Chinese hotels, not joint ventures, then they don't care. Some Chinese hotels will even send women to your door minutes after checking in for special room service.
