The Kings palace is probably the most beautiful site in Bangkok. When you go, remember it is a holy site. Proper dress is required. If you are wearing flip-flops, you will have to rent shoes. If you have no sleeves on a blouse or shirt, you will be required to rent a shirt. There just happens to be a thriving shirt, shoe rental service at the entrance to the King's Palace!

Taxis now will charge a fixed fee to any unknowing farang who sits in a cab. They say they do not use the meter any more and make the fee a fixed 400 baht or more when the meter fare will be about 150 baht plus the airport fee of 50 baht. |
