Cabbages and Condoms: Unusual, but good

The name gets your attention right away. I did not know what to expect. I was not disappointed. The restaurant supports population control projects in villages, hence the condoms. The first thing you see when you enter is the condom blossom tree, and Santa condom, And the other art works based on condoms. You also see a beautiful garden restaurant.

When you check out, they deliver the receipt along with a brochure and two brightly colored condoms. Best of all, the brochure claims that their food is guaranteed not to cause pregnancy.

Favorite Dish: I had the softshell crab in the thai style. Everything here was good, and the spice level was not too hot.

Seven Seas Restaurant: Great food on Soi 4

  • Restaurant Name: Seven Seas Restaurant

The new Seaven Seas Restaurant is down the street from Nana Entertainment area. Not exactly where you would expect a really good restaurant would be located. Anyway, the seafood is excellent. Great presentation in a tastefully decorated restaurant with good service spells great restaurant.

Favorite Dish: Tha soft shell crabs and nearly any seafood selection are the things to get. They also grill shrimp outside in the patio area. Afternoons, there is a happy hour and wine buffet.

Thanks for a brilliant warning/tip. We are going to Thailand in Nov 09 and I have printed out your blog and will take it with us. We got conned very badly in Hong Hong and don't want to repeat the experience. Joy

Taxis now will charge a fixed fee to any unknowing farang who sits in a cab. They say they do not use the meter any more and make the fee a fixed 400 baht or more when the meter fare will be about 150 baht plus the airport fee of 50 baht.
