Partial View of Edinburgh I went to Edinburgh for first time during summer of 2.005.I've heard a lot about this beautiful city before my arriving,so I knew what beautiful architecture and attractions that the city has to offer to visitors.
Lucky I spent two days here in August,during the summer festival of the city,it was incredible!!.Now I'll give you a brief History lesson about Edinburgh,hope don't bore you!! :-)
Edinburgh it is known in all the world for many facts,but maybe one of most important is its famous University,founded in 1,583.The Bank of Scotland was also founded in 1,695.
In 1,707 was the Act of Union,then joined Scotland and England together politically,and about this the old Edinburgh Parliament was moved into London.
Since then the city was home to a rapidy spanding population of 35,000,and soon many people from rest of the country started to arrive to the city.Then Edinburgh become the second most important financial city after London.And on this time was planning to build a new part of the city.And without any doubts on our days Edinburgh still being the Scotland's Capital. |
