This is La Sardana,a typical catalan dance. When I was walking by the Barri Gotic, just at Town Hall square many people were dancing a few sardanas there. As you can see in the picture,is a quiet dance and everybody make a circle with the hands.

This is a local custum in Catalonia and other parts of Spain.I found this nice "correfoc" walking by one quarter of the old town not far from Passeig de Grŕcia. It consist in a group of people that celebrate some festivals on their neighborhood. They were carrying some fireworks and a small band was playing some nice music behind them, they walks for many streets of the quarter burning the fireworks,it is an amazing and very noisy event, but they have lots of fun.

In Las Ramblas and other touristic areas of the city, you'll find a lot of street entertainers like this, they are asking for some money, but really it is always funny to see what they have to offer! this is a funny invisible man with four legs!.

The oficial languages in Catalonia are Catalan and Castellano (Spanish). In Barcelona all people can speak both languages, but also there are many people from other parts of Spain and also Latin American that are now living here.Don't be surprised in some small villages of Barcelona or other provinces in Catalonia to find that people don't speak spanish, just catalan.
