BOÍ VALLEY

by Hosell - last update: Jan 14, 2005

Sant Climent Church at Taull

The VALL DE BOÍ (Boí Valley) is located in Lleida province at Pyrenees mountains. It takes the name of the main town here Boí but it is shaped for a few more small villages:Barruera,Cardet,Coll,Durro,Erill la Vall,Saraís and Taüll.

Here you'll see some beautiful Romanesque Architecture and in all churches and other old romanesque buildings in all this valley are designed by UNESCO as
World Heritage ,in the year 2.000.This is also a nice place to explore and see all little villages and awesome mountains landscapes.

I was trying to built a page about the two main towns in the valley,Boí or Taüll,but they aren't available on VT,so I decided make the page at the town of Barruera instead. This small village is located also on same valley,so I'll show you on this page some nice places to see around and also some of best Romanesques Churches to see here, all of them are a must see in the area, but see all of them will take you too much time,so I'll show you the ones I've visited and they are also the best ones.

I've been on this area on midle of December 2.004 and also I had the chance to see Barruera for a while, well this is really a tiny little town, just have a main street and there you'll see the nice small church and other buildings, including a few nice restaurants where I had a lunch one of the two days I spent seeing all this nice valley.

Very lovely pages on Barruera and the area, Manuel. I especially love your emphasis on architecture. You have some vibrant photos that add so much to the pages. Really good restaurant tip.
