And what about a nice European Football match? this is a partial view of Murcia's Footbal Stadium "La Condomina" is located just beside the bullring,so if you like football come to see a good match here!!.
Have you seen a bullfight in Spain or other countries in South and Central America? if your answer is not, then in Murcia and in almost all big or medium size cities in Spain you can do it!!.
This is the Bullring of the city of Murcia,if you come to the city for a few days and never seen before, then come to see a bullfight!.
Walking by Murcia's Old Town you'll find some beautiful buildings like the one on my picture.I'm not very sure about this one but I think that it was an high school. This picture was taken at Paseo Garay just next to riverside,I noticed some beautiful building on this area aswell.
I'll place more pictures taken in old town in a separated travelogue.
PASEO GARAY is another nice place to have a break and a nice stroll. It is a very long promenade and also has a small park on it.It is located beside the riverside before arriving to the old town and cathedral. From here you can have some nice views of the Segura River and some beautiful building around.
This is another picture taken at Murcia's Old town,is another view of the Cathedral's Belltower.Around the Cathedral you'll see a few big avenues but also lot of small and narrow streets,is the best place to walk and see all nice buildings around. Also on this area you'll see many restaurants and Tapas Bars, shops, souvenir shops, and lot of coffe shops also.
Other nice places to see in Murcia are:
MONASTERIO DE SANTA CLARA
IGLESIA DE LA MERCED
MONASTERIO CORPUS CHRISTI
PALACIO DE FONTES
IGLESIA DE SAN LORENZO
This was the first nice building that I saw just entering Murcia,it is located next the the Stadium and Bullring and is the Church of Sta. Eulalia.
It was built on XVIII century, and is a nice and small church,we didn't had the chance to see the interior on this trip, hop to see it better on my next visit to Murcia!.
This picture was taken in one of numerous bridges that you can see at Murcia's city. This time is one modern architecture bridges and it looks very good isn't?.That one is located beside the Botanical Gardens and go to a new place of the city, here you can see the Science Museum.
Also in the river you'll see many ducks and swans.
The RIO SEGURA is one of most important rivers in all this area of Spain. The river cross through Murcia and there are many bridges from one to the other side of the city. Some of them are very old but also there are a few new bridges that you can use to go to the new part of the city, where is located the Science Museum.
If you come to Murcia with time enough, then here you can fishing or do other water sports aswell, even tough the Mediterranea Sea is located about 20 miles from the city.
When I was walking by the Botanical Garden I noticed about many small stands made of straws and also many tables and plastic chairs placed in the gardens. My visit to the city was the first week of April and I didn't know about that but on that time is one of most important festivals in the city.
Is named as "Feria de Primavera" and there is also a very nice and big parade on the oldtown and something called "La Guerra de las Flores"(Flower's Battle) that was held in the old town at 7 p.m so I didn't had the time to see it but it sounds very nice isn't??
It seems that during the time of this festival (about one week) all assistants to the parade and rest of events come here to the Botanical Gardens to have the lunch on these strow stands.
In many places of Spain there are a sort of group of friends that are in a kind brotherhood called "Peñas" it seems that here in Murcia, all these people are orchard's keepers that have some land outside the city, and for what I saw they have lots of FUN doing that!!.
Another nic place to go and very close to the Botanical Garden is PASEO DEL MALECON,is a very nice and long promenade beside the riverside .Is a very good place to strolling and also from here you'll have some very good views of the oldtown and Cathedral.
