Limerick, situated in the west of the island at the Shannon River, has about 100,000 inhabitants and is the third largest city in Ireland. It surely makes a good base for touring the mid-west of the country for it is close to the Cliffs of Moher and Galway for example, Dublin and Cork aren't that far away either, the city itself is not very spectacular though. Besides Limerick is known for its high crime-rate.

Yeah fair enough, but Limerick people are really nice! And every city in England and Germany probably has a higher crime rate! I agree it's not exactly Paris, though. But I'm proud of that =) Nice collection of pages... hugs from london x

Not sure why you can be so negative about the city. You seem to fall into the usual stereo typical group. I notice the way you say "I was told this" or "i heard this". Would be much better if you visited those area's.
Great page!! very good tips!! btw - I saw a movie about this town once. the movie was at the past about an Irish family that lived there, at that time it already was a bit dangerous place... :))
