The United Kingdom was the last country I visited on my 16-country tour of Europe in 1982. Unfortunately, I was not able to see most of what this country has to offer. My visit was restricted to just two days in London (not enough time to even adequately explore the British capital), so this page highlights some of the more notable sights of London. Someday I hope to go beyond the city to experience more of the United Kingdom.

Since early 2005, I have been going on birdwatching trips with a British nature tour company and visit the United Kingdom about every six months to make connections through London on my way to birdwatching destinations. I usually spend a day or two in London visiting the sights and birdwatching in some of the parks.

You managed to see all the main attractions that London has to offer. It is quite an amazing city isn't it. And to get a glimpse of the Queen - that was a bonus eh! Some great updates Dave.

I enjoyed your excellent descriptions of the many attractions available in downtown London! I've been there quite a few times myself, but have yet to see even half of the ones you list! One of my favourite cities.

After 2 years, I still think these pages are marvelous. You have great variety & an engaging narrative. Loved the photo of Queen Elizabeth (I did click!). Observant, positive, helpful, and interesting work. Thanks for the delightful tour.

Perhaps "Yo! Blair" could be persuaded to take a trip to one of the cells in St Stephens Tower ;-) As for the Queen pic, I think the man she is hiding behind is Prince Philip (i.e. her husband!). Certainly the nose profile looks right!
