I recently moved to Indiana from Illinois, where I lived in the Chicago area. In the past I occasionally drove through northern Indiana on my way to Michigan, or went to the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore on the south shore of Lake Michigan. However, I never really took the time to see many of the sights, or appreciate some of the things that Indiana has to offer. Now that I live here, I look forward to exploring and experiencing the sights and attractions of the Hoosier State.
Indiana is mainly a rural state which is characterized by forested hills in the southern region, fertile rolling plains in the central region, and flat agricultural lands in the northern region.
Despite its rural character, Indiana has urban areas which provide interesting attractions for the visitor. Indianapolis is a large city which offers cultural attractions, fine restaurants, top-notch hotels, exciting sporting events, and numerous sightseeing opportunities. Travelers should also visit some of the smaller cities throughout the state. Most have historical and cultural attractions to interest visitors.
