American Bar with Jazz room in the basement. Part of the Prague Circuit but, leans toward established bands.
    Bar upstairs does nice salads.

  • Nightlife Spot: Arena Disco and strip club

Most Stag nights in Prague end up here. It plays good music if you want to dance and it has a lot of tables if you want to watch. There are 'shows' on the hour and there are available girls if you want to do business. Entry is about 1 Pound and the first beer is free. Take small change for the bathroom as 5kc is the usual charge.

  • Nightlife Spot: Lucerna

The phrase 'they don't make them like this anymore' springs to mind as you go in. The venue used to be a huge dancefloor but, now hosts an array of international and local talent. Also hosts a variety of awards presentations to and from celebrities.

  • Nightlife Spot: Lavka

Lavka (next to Charles Bridge) and the best location picture I've seen for a while.
This is your ultimate 'united nations' disco. Open 7 days a week but, I would recommend only Thurs,Fri and Sat. Tables and chairs upstairs. Dancefloor downstairs. Big garden in the summer. Top 40 music and personal preference. Not many locals. Coffee bar opens at 6am. You'll get a very different view of Charles Bridge (deserted and ghostly in the mist from the Vltava). Very pleasant outdoor area at the back alongside the river.

Kozicka (Little Goat): Kozicka (Little Goat)

  • Nightlife Spot: Kozicka (Little Goat)

A Czech Bar that serves good beer, a great steak and opens until 4am in the morning. A good blend of Czechs and expats out for dinner and lively conversation. If you don't like it, walk down the road to number 15 where you'll find the Spanish Bar 'La Casa Blu'.

    Irish Bars: Irish Bars
  • Tip Rating:
  • Nightlife Spot: Irish Bars

Last count there were 6. My personal favourites are the James Joyce and Caffreys (photo), because they both show Sky Sports and have great food. Both are expat hang outs with Czech and Irish staff. Best fried breakfast in town. Close to Caffreys is Mollie Malones (don't mess with Graham) reasonably authentic. Scarlett O'Haras on the Mala Strana side of Charles Bridge (near McDonalds) has now closed and part of it was turned into a public toilet.

Reduta Jazz Club: Reduta Jazz Club

  • Nightlife Spot: Reduta Jazz Club

Small venue makes for great atmosphere. No seat allocation so first come first serve. Lots of local talent on the circuit. If you find a favourite band you can follow them around Prague in different venues.
There's even a small brass plate on one of the seats to show you where President Clinton sat on one evening.

  • Nightlife Spot: Joshua Tree

Now in it's 2nd year, the Joshua Tree has established itself as having a daytime clientele interested in the good food and a nightime clientele interested in the music. It is a regular stop for many live bands on a nightly basis. Cavernous interior with 4 or 5 different alcoved sections. Huge mirrored bar for cocktails etc
