My New Year 2001 in Barcelona

by canaglic - last update: Sep 11, 2002

I don't have word to explain this beautiful city!!!
I was in Barca and spend a four days (in Sabadell exactly). We trip by bus from Zagreb to Barcelona 25 hours but it pays. The Spanish people are unique, wonderful, and friendly. Barcelona, and its people, are even more so - there's something about the Gaudi architecture that just gives the place a vitality that's truly special. So, take a look some pics and info of Barcelona!!!

Barcelona was founded by settlers form Carthage. At that time Barcelona was held by the Romans and Visigoths. Barcelona evetualy fell to the Moors in the 8th century. In the 9th century Barcelona was ruled by the counts of Barcelona. By the 1400 Barcelona had become a center for trade, banking, and cloth making. In 1640-52 Bracelona was the center of the Catalan revolt against Spain, and the capitol of the Catalan automonous government. Barcelona is Spain's second largest city and Spain's largest sea port. Manufactures and Items include textiles, machinery, motor vehicles, locomotives, and aircraft. Barcelona also hosted the 1992 summer Olympic games.
