<font color=fuchsia size=+1>Ive been living here in Miami Beach since 1986. I use to come to Miami Beach every summer with my Parents and little Brother and spend a month here. Like all Cuban families from New York Miami was the vacation spot of choice. Well after 15 years from when I was a boy I happenned to come to Miami on my way to Cuba. the trip to Cuba never happened because of some stupid red tape down in Cuba so after 2 hours in Cuba I flew back to Miami and spent the 2 weeks here in this town. Alot had changed in 1986 from when I would come down with my family. It was a ghost town, Miami beach that is. "I loved it"!!! There was nothing here. I finally had found the peace and quiet that I could not find living all my life in New York. That week I had made a big choice in my life and that was that I was going to save enough money and move here. Well I did. I was 25 years old and with $600 and 2 suitcases I came down. and the rest is history. Alot has changed since I moved here for better and for worst, like for exsample its kinda of like a miniture Greenich Village with palm trees and aqua blue ocean but at the same time rents are sky high, the standart of living is expensive and at the same time theres really not much work here, and if you work here salaries are still cheap like when I first moved here, and thats very sad especially when you have landlords taking advantage of this situation, and not to mention a city government thats also money hungry blood suckers. Miami Beach or South Beach as its called now is the USA Riviera. What ever the case maybe its my home and I can truly call my self a Miamian. Where else in America can I get a "cafecito Cubano " at almost any corner bodega.
