Amsterdam, a melting pot of peoples races. The most liberal city on earth,they say,but is it?. What can I tell you. The atmosphere is like Barcelona. Young, free and it never gets cold, whatever temperature it is.

But this page is not only about the city itself. It's more about the surroundings ! Why? There is allready so much written on Amsterdam city. I consider it not my first priority to put that in. There are enough sites on VT where you can find that. I will give you a look around !

SAIL is a 5 yearly event in the waters of Amsterdam featuring many so called Tallships like the Russian " Kruzenstern" and the rebuild Dutch flagship of the former Admiralty of Holland the " Amsterdam" .
The event is famous in the world and lasts for four days. This page gives you an impression of it, taken from the waters. We were sailing the "Siver Spray", a sailing pilot ship of the early 20 th century. Look for it in my traveloge
