I live about 45 minutes away from here.....hardly ever go there though...

YORK is a great place to visit for a day out seeing the sights and walking round the narrow streets of this old walled city.

York has 365 pubs, one for every day of the year so there is no shortage, and plenty to choose from.

For those that like stylish but relaxed, check out the Streets around Swinegate. For those who like it a bit more lively head down to the bars on Rougier Street.
If it is real fine ale you are looking for there are plenty to choice from in the town center.
