    Getting TO/AROUND: If you take a budget flight to Venice.. Chances are you will land up in Treviso airport.. which is a serious no-frill airport!

    From there you take a shuttle bus to venice island, it drops passengers off at the bus terminal which is opposite the train station (Piazzale Roma).

    Getting TO/AROUND: The traghetto is a gondola which helps people cross the grand canal. Great and cheap alternative to the 'real' gondola experience. Good if you are in between the reach of the bridges.. only 3 bridges for the whole grand canal.. This costs only 0.50euros.. but of coz you will have to stand and it lasts for less than 5mins.

    This is a cheap way to get the experience of sitting a gondola.. but these little gondola stops are elusive and insignificant.. i tried so hard to find one.. but could did not get to see one until it was time for me to leave!!! arghz!

    Getting TO/AROUND: Venice is a water city.. so not every where is easily accessible by the water buses.. I really enjoy walking around.. even when i had no choice.. because every bit of venice is so beautiful.. you don't mind your tired feet. :)

    Getting TO/AROUND: There are no wheel-ish vehicles around.. only those on water..
    There are taxi boats..

    But here's a cheaper alternative.. the VAPORETTO.. or the water bus..

    Great way to move around.. along the Grand Canal or even to get to the other islands...

    Day passes are really worth it.. There are student prices too.. 10.50euros for 24hours.

    A single trip is 3.10euros and return is 5.20euros..

    A 24 or 72 hour ticket is 19 or 31 euros respectively.

    Each stop is labelled and it's really easy to find out which vaporetto to take to wherever you want to get to... FOOL PROOF... if i can do it.. so can you! haha
