Hotels in Patong Phuket and other Phuket, Thailand Hotel/Accommodation Reviews

I have stayed at many hotels in Phuket over the years, where you stay of course depends on your budget. But think about which beach you want to stay at.
Patong Beach is the busiest, I agree the Thara Patong is excellent value for money, there are plenty of mid-priced hotels, the Patong Beach Hotel, Safari, Horizon, Merlin, some very good value hotels are Coconut Village and the Duangjitt Resort.
You may prefer to stay somewhere quieter such as Karon Beach or Karon Beach.
It varies a great deal, if you are visiting betweeen now and the end of October hotel rates are very cheap as it's the low season.
Patong does have a very large choice of hotels and places to stay, everything from small guesthouses and Bed and Breakfast to large major resort hotels. More luxurious hotels and resorts include Club Andaman, Gracelands, Le Meridien ( just outside of Patong on the way to Karon Beach ), the Amari Coral and many others.

The original Patong Beach Hotel is located across the road from the beach in Patong Phuket. The Patong Beach Hotel is a tall high rise hotel and many of the rooms offer great seaviews. The hotel has excellent facilities in the mid and upper price range. The location is ideal in Patong Beach for those seeking a hotel that is close to the beach and also very close to the entertainment and shopping areas of Patong Beach. You can also read the other reviews for the Patong Beach hotel. The Suites at the Patong Beach Hotel are good value when compared with the prices for suites elesewhere in Patong. The staff are friendly and helpful. Very popular for a hotel at Christmas in Patong, it gets fully booked for Christmas well in advance. Ideal location if you are looking for a Christmas holiday hotel in Patong Phuket.

Unique Qualities: The Patong Beach Hotel has an excellent location, good service and good facilities. If you are not sure where to stay on a first visit it makes a good easy choice for a hotel in Patong.

Located right opposite the beach in Patong the Holiday Inn provides excellent comfort and very good service indeed. Ideal for couples and families, good range of restaurants with reasonable prices. Easy access to Patong shopping and nightlife. The beach road between the Holiday Inn Patong and the beach is very busy. The Holiday Inn Phuket has been a favorite family hotel in Patong beach for many years. Many excellent reviews from elsewhere also, reviews for the Holiday Inn Phuket remain consistently good.

Unique Qualities: Great location in Patong beach but like others, across the beach road. The Holiday Inn Patong has excellent facilities and together with excellent location make this a very popular family hotel in Patong.

As February is still peak season on Phuket I would certainly suggest booking in advance. You may find accommodation but with 10 of you together you may want anything from 3/4 to 5 rooms, so I would book in advance.

Has a very large selection, the rates are clearly stated, no credit card required for an enquiry, check as many as you want, you only pay 1 night deposit and balance 2 weeks before arrival.
Some of the best 3 star places that I would call 'value for money' would be Patong bayshore which should be around THB 1,900 a night for 2 with tax, service charge and breakfast, , Thanthip Villa ( nice new small place convenient for beach ) about THB 2,000 for 2, Deevana about 2,600, if you want uppper 3 star larger resort style hotels, Thara Patong etc you go into the close to 4,000 a night range.

3 star can range from something like Thara patong, Safarai beach, Horizon etc which are close/along the beach road to places on 2nd Road ( rat-U-Thit ) that tend to be cheaper. Patong Bayshore certainly isn't luxury but benefits from being built in the days when real estate was cheaper, so it is low rise and just a few minutes walk to the beach, many new places are large high rise, Patong Bayshore has a more relaxed holiday / vacation feel and is reasonable for the price.

The Kata Beach Resort on Phuket is located right on the beach at the south part of Kata beach. Some of the rooms have seaview but other have a side or other view. The swimming pool at the Kata beach Resort is overlooking the beach, this is an ideal family beach hotel on Phuket if you plan to stay at Kata beach. The Kata beach resort hotel is ideal for those who want a luxury beach resort hotel on Phuket.

The Thara Patong has been another form favorite hotel in Patong for many years. It has been refurbished many times over the years with more rooms and facilities added. The Thara Patong gains from being one of the first large hotels in the areas and therefore has an excllent location. A short walk to the beach at Patong and also to Soi Bangla. The Thara Patong Hotel is ideal for those who want a mid priced hotel that is convenient for both the beach and shopping / entertainment areas of Patong. Service always pleasant and rates quite good compared with many newer hotels and resorts.

The Thanthip Villa is very new. I was pleasantly surprised. Convenient location close to Graeland. Located on Soi Eden that runs between Rat-U-Thit Road and the Beach Road. The Pool access rooms are very nice. The hotel was not busy at all as low season but I am sure it will be popular. They have some connecting rooms which are good for families. I did not manage any photos but you can find those easily.

Unique Qualities: Nice design, very nice pool. Very good discount opening rates.

There are excellent luxury 4 star hotels and luxury 5 star hotels and resorts on Phuket now. Popular luxury 4 star and 5 star hotels include Baan Yin Dee, Katathani, Chedi and Amanpuri. The Le Meridien Phuket Yacht Club and others. The Amanpuri, Chedi, Trisara, Sheraton and others are amongst the luxury hotels on Phuket.

Unique Qualities: A wide choice of different styles of properties, many can be found in classic and lanna style architecture with all the modern facilities.

New and luxury resort hotel in Patong Beach Phuket. The Graceland Resort is just across the road from the beach in Patong. Very nice rooms, lovely swimming pool with a pool bar. The restaurant at the Graceland Resort is very nice, there is also plenty of garden area which is nice. The staff are attentive.

Unique Qualities: Nice to see a quality resort hotel in Patong Beach. The Graceland Resort has an excellent location, not too busy but easy to walk to the busy parts of Patong Beach.
