Ankara Restaurant Tips by Dirim

Just go to the Sakarya street (There are a lot of streets there but all this area is known as Sakarya street)

You will find all sources of food.

Be aware that you can find the most delicious 'Döner' kebab in Ankara. I advice you the restaurants 'Cihan Kebab' and 'Karacaoglu'. If you want to eat doner in fast food style, try 'Hosta Piknik'.

For delicious sweets go to the 'Mdya Tatli' or 'Karacaoglu' on Sakarya Street.

For fish, especially Black Sea speciality fish 'hamsi', try 'Hamsikoy' on Sakarya St.

Especially if you are drunk, take a 'Iskembe Soup'. The best is in 'Rumeli Iskembe' on Sakarya St.

Or try 'Kokorec' from the street.

Try not to learn what are included in Iskembe or Kokorec. Just enjoy the delicious taste.

Restaurant Name: Büyük Ekspress

Büyük Ekspress is a pub located in Kizilay, in Sakarya Street district. It is a nice pub preferred mostly by students and young academics from METU (Middle East Technical University).

These are photos when we visited there after match, and most of t us are METU origined.

Restaurant Name: NET PiKNiK

It is a nice place with friendly people. Exactly, not a cool place.They have got good food and the customers are always respectful.

It is on Sakarya street. Ask it to anybody, and they will show you.

You can go there with your father as I did (see photo:) )
