NSW has 3 World Heritage listed areas
Central Eastern Rainforest Reserves - Nth Coast
Willandra Lakes (Mungo National Park)
Lord Howe Island
Central Eastern Rainforest Reserves The rainforest area is the most accessable. There are lots of hostels and various tours all along the coast that cater for visitors there. That is not to say that the places will be teaming with tourists. Some of the short walks near carparks get overrun but if you are keen you can walk all day without seeing a soul. Remember to always tell someone where you are planning to go and when you plan to return. If you have an opportunity to get to the QLD/NSW border spend a night and take a sunrise walk up Mt Warning. The world's largest extinct prehistoric volcano and also the first place to see the sun rise in OZ.
Willandra Lakes Mungo National Park
Located in the South West of the State, Mungo is a very significant Aboriginal site. Erosion has uncovered extensive evidence of the Aboriginal occupation of this area. The orange and white sand dunes, called 'The Walls of China' are amazing. The picture below is not one of mine but i have included it because i dont have one and you really ought to see it. :-)
