  • Tip Rating:

  • The Old Spaghetti Factory. My friend Derek and I went there on my last night in Toronto.
This place is huge! It doesnt look that big from the outside, but once inside, the place seems to go on forever. They can easily handle busloads of people. I also loved the decor - there was a carousel inside the restaurant!

Favorite Dish: Spaghetti! Any decent pasta restaurant will give you lots of pasta, and this one did its job. There isn't a lot of variety on the menu, but if you like pasta, you'll be happy. We got, as you probably guessed by now, spaghetti, and the dinner price included this: unlimited amounts of fresh bread and fresh whipped butter and garlic butter (soft, not frozed bricks of butter), salad with your choice of dressing, the main dish, and dessert, which is a dish of ice cream in your choice of 4 flavors. It cost the 2 of us a grand total of $25 CDN, which I thought was a great bargain. And, service was very quick, unexpected for a Friday night.

  • Tip Rating:

  • Movenpick Marche. This is a unique way to eat - the place is set up like a market, with different stations serving different kinds of cuisine. Its a bit confusing at first - when you walk in they give you a ticket with a bunch of boxes on it, and when you order your food from the different stations, they will mark your ticket with what you bought. You can sit down and eat in a cafe like atmosphere (very canned, but charming nonetheless), and when you are ready to leave you give your ticket to the cashier and they add it up and you pay.
The concept! Its similar to a buffet in that there is an endless selection, but you are not tempted to put a little bit of everything on your plate. I was there for a few hours (I had time to kill) and I didnt feel rushed at all.

Favorite Dish: I only ate there once, but everything I had was great - and cooked to order. I had an individual sized pizza prepared and cooked in a brick oven right before my eyes, and a huge Belgian waffle with ice cream for dessert. Everything was excellent, and everything I didnt have looked great too.
