I have never heard a native pronounce it Joisey, the letter R is very much alive in New Jersey. And it really isn't all that bad a place. My mother grew up here, and her family is still here so I visit on a semi-regular basis, but I can't say that I have been to many of the tourist traps. I usually hop on a train and go to New York when I am there, since my uncle lives within walking distance of a NJ Transit station. But, for those of you who have never been here, I will try my best to build a page. |

KellyVanRijn Sat Sep 18, 2004 22:17 UTC Hi: 1: go during the week as the crowds are less than 1/2 of what shows up on the weekends. 2-, go to a different beach during the day, such as Manasquan (much nicer beach), then hit Seaside when the sun goes down for the boardwalk and nightlife. | kazander Thu Feb 26, 2004 17:27 UTC Thanks for your page on my home state. I appreciate you letting others know that we really don't pronounce it "Joisey" | brazilnut30 Wed May 29, 2002 18:33 UTC nice page and happy birthday! | acemj Wed May 29, 2002 14:28 UTC cool drawing. happy birthday! |
