Local Customs: There is lots and lots of...
  • Tip Rating:
  • There is lots and lots of shopping to do in London. Harrod's is the most obvious choice, but the place is crawling with tourists and overpriced. I like the department stores on Oxford Street much better - John Lewis being my favorite. Kensington High Street and the area around it has some very nice shops, including the very upscale Harvey Nichol's. If you like shopping for things for your home, then head to Tottenham Court Road and Goodge Street. This seems to be the place that home stores congregate. There are lots of souvenir shops scattered around the city, so browse them and make note of which ones have good prices or something of interest and go back later, it pays to shop around.

  • Tip Rating:
  • For Americans (and anyone else from a country that drives on the right) - look right when crossing the street, and if you can't remember that then look down. Most of the crossings will tell you which way to look.

  • Tip Rating:
  • It seems wherever you go there is news about the Royal Family. Here is the web address for history, information, and more: British Monarchy
