Name of Shop: ...
What To Buy: Almost each city in Japan is famous for something. Akashi is famous for octopus. Hamamatsu is famous for eel. Okayama is famous for peaches. Aomori is famous for apples. Hokkaido is famous for dairy products. To find out what is famous in the city/town that you are visiting (if there is no information center), go to the markets & shopping streets & look to see what is sold in abundance. Or look for landmarks (like a HUGE peach or a HUGE apple sitting on the roadside). And it`s not just food. Himeji tongs are famous. Fukuoka hakata dolls & takatoriyaki pottery is famous. Kyoto oil blotting tissue (for you ladies!!) is famous. Try to buy something that is famous in the city/town that you are visiting in. They can be great souvenirs!!
