The Taupo region is very diverse area, absolutely worth to visit, though probably not as well known outside of New Zealand as Auckland or Rotorua. I arrived with almost no expectations, but my stay here was the highlight of my New Zealand trip.

Pros and Cons

Pros:Exciting natural attractions
Cons:I found no "con" at all (I was lucky with the weather :-))

What a great idea -- a balloon trip over New Zealand! By the way, we like sheep, too (we took lots of photos in Ireland)
