Turje - my grandparents' village

by aramat - last update: Oct 8, 2003

Chapel with flowers
Turje (with an umlaut on the "u", but if I type the right Hungarian character, it looks "?" in VT) is the place where my grandparents used to live and I've been there many-many times. Now only my grandfather lives, with my parents in Budapest, but we still have relatives there, so we go back to visit as often as we can.

In general, Turje is a lovely little village in the Western part of Hungary.

The picture shows a detail of the little chapel in the village graveyard. My grandfather, who was a mason, worked a lot on this building.
