Ancón peninsula - Trinidad

Ancón peninsula

Ancon peninsula Ancon Review

Favorite thing: The Ancon peninsula, a beautiful natural area is about 12-13 kms from Trinidad. The beaches washed by the Caribbean Sea are sandy with crystal-clear water.

Fondest memory: We stayed on the peninsula rather than in the town and it was a good decision. After a long day in Trinidad, it was bliss to submerge in the warm sea.
The picture shows the still water between the peninsula and the mainland.

Valle de los Ingenios - Trinidad

Valle de los Ingenios

El Valle de los Ingenios

Favorite thing: In the 18-19th centuries the Valley of the Sugar Mills was one of the most productive sugar-cane growing areas in Cuba. Today, it's a UNESCO cultural heritage site together with Trinidad as the sugar-cane plantations provided the wealth for the town's development.

Fondest memory: The old sugar estate of Manaca Iznaga. There is a tourist restaurant and a souvenir shop in the main building, but the major attraction is the fascinating 45m tall slave tower.
