Wear your thong between your toes

Many travellers to Australia maybe confused or even embarrassed when questioned over their thongs... you may hear questions or comments such as these:

1. "Did you bring your thongs?"
2. "We're going to the beach - don't forget your thongs"
3. "Just grab your thongs... we're only going to the deli"
4. "Leave your thongs at the door"
5. "Don't leave your thongs outside... our dog loves to chew them"

The thong is well worn around the world. I don't know where it originated but I do know that the Egyptians were wearing a kind of thong in 3000 BC and the Japanese have been wearing them like forever.

Thongs are better know elsewhere as:

Jandles
Sandles
Flip-Flops

But to us here in Austalia... they're thongs (we call the other things "G-strings"... BUTT that's a totally different cultural tip!!)

Not much of a cultural tip... but it will let you know a little about one of our 'most wanted' Australians in our time since 'Ned Kelly'... there was a movie made about his attempted kidnapping... I had a 'bit part' in this film... believe me it's not the best flick... but it's fun to try and spot people you know... <BR><BR>
I'm the one in the blue sparkling cocktail dress... have a laugh and see if you're quick enough to catch a glimpse of me raising a glass. If nothing else its a tribute to how we all dressed way back in the '80's!! (I think that era launched the 'fashion police'!!)
