The original old town of Kashgar
This is a typical travel-magazine-cover for Kashgar. Although the old town still conserve quite well, most has already blended together with new modern constructions that built in less than 10 years after the new Communism China. Therefore if you want to visit this old town, you are actually entering the modern city first, then you walk into the city centre to see this old town, quite the same city planning concept as Lijiang and Dali in Yunnan province. No entrance fees or ticket yet when I visit, most part were under heavy reconstruction. Tourists can still enjoy the ancient look and feel of this historical city. Women tourists need not cover face, hands or legs. I saw many sexy women wearing so short....

High speed development

Great development is the heatest slogan today in western China to fully transform all remaining old towns into modern huge cities, to become rich, highly civilise, environmental care and many more. Many roads I walked in Kashgar has at least one or two large scale construction in progress such as this one in top photo. At the construction site, I saw many huge slogans mostly talking about " Great development of western China " Overall this location is worth a visit, very good for photos.
