Mohong (Boten) the China-Laos border

Having lunch before crossing border
This is my third time in Mohong (Boten in Laos). The only purpose of visiting this small town is to cross from China to Laos. To apply for Visa of Laos, tourist for sure can pay US$40 for immediate Visa at the custom office of Laos. Visa can also apply in advance from Kunming. Jinghong and Mengla are possible too. Better to arrive early before 3pm, for the truck to Louang Namtha.
Exchange to Laos Kips
......and cross the border

Your food looks great, but aren't that delicious as mine ;) How come you always have a person snap for you at any time - a body photographer? Hmm...

Laos certainly likes foreigners to pay for the priviledge of a visit.

US $40 extortion to the local thugs... Ah, the delusions of political control...
