Pronounced Sir-gum-boot not Seg-game-butt.
How to get there?
If you coming from the city centre, take the Chow Kit road and then walk/drive towards the direction of Ipoh road. Once you are in Ipoh road, very easy as you just have to go strait until you see the road sign of Jalan Segambut.
Segambut is merely a small unnoticeable town faraway from the city centre, not many peoples willing to spend time wandering there as the place itself was unattractive due to polluted light industrial. It is not a tourist attraction but I put it up as an OTBP (Off the beaten path) so that tourists around the world at least have an idea what is the look beyond the city centre.
Somewhere in the middle of Segambut road, the government put up a huge billboard advertisement about Anti-Smoking. This campaign alone required 500 millions Ringgits (I read from newspaper). This campaign is to educate our youngsters to get away from buying a pack of thing called cigarettes. It roughly says if one consumed such products, teeth will not look that good and attractive anymore. That's how the central psychology for eradicating cigarettes consumption of the country.
Tak nak meaning don't want. It means I don't want to consume such products anymore because I have bad looking teeth until I dare not let others see my teeth by covering my mouth. What do you think?
Segambut is larely occupied by all these industrial sites. Heavy vehicles as well can be seen anywhere, hence driving a small car or a bike is very dangerous around the area.
Segambut has many residential areas and schools. Roads are linked to the city centre, to Ipoh road to many other towns. Condition of roads are quite improve nowadays comparing to those days when I pay a visit to my old friend who setup a kids art class here.
