Jalan Pasar according to the book written by JM Gullick whom I pick as the best book that provided the best historical information about the city of Kuala Lumpur is some kind of main trading location of tin during the Industrial Revolution days.
Today Jalan Pasar is a road full of cars, bikes, trucks, pedestrians and electronic accessories’ shops. This Pasar road also has numerous aquariums that sell mostly tropical fishes. In early morning, this location is bustling especially the wet market quarter which supplies many daily foods to all our Lumpurese friends.
What you see in the photo is just one of the shops among nearly 100 shops in the road of Jalan Pasar. This location is almost a flea market but surprisingly unknown to tourists probably due to cheapness or some other reasons.
The shop sells a local made audio amplifier for as cheap as RM65 which is nearly 20 to 100 times less than anything you can buy from KLCC. If tourists are looking for these quality of products, Jalan Pasar is the place for you. Besides audio items, all kinds of electrical and electronic components are available here and prices are much cheaper than anywehre else.
Other than shops, there are also many individual on-the-street sellers where they bring whatever they have to display on the floor with a piece of ground sheet. Photos beside shows how they displayed their items for sale. This kind of selling method and buying method are very exciting. Shopers go around selecting whatever they desire and after satisfy with the item, start bargain. So, its all depend on the skills of bargain, but not all. Some just pick and pay.
The day I went for photo shooting, I saw many sellers displaying products from watches to mobile cases, village medicines, shoes, head wear and many others. One guy so prominent where he sitting alone displaying his Chinese imported sex-products on a small portable table. I have a photo inside my tips, please take a look.
