Local Customs: A Fish
  • Tip Rating:
  • The story has to start from about 30 years ago. This Arowana fish worth not more than RM50.00 each but today it's price is about a car, why?

The local Malaysian-Chinese believe this Red Arowana will bring good luck and fortune for the owner. The cost of this fish can rise to RM2,000 to RM20,000 in Kuala Lumpur and they even have serial numbers injected in their body.

Some enthusiasts said if you look carefully and concetrate hard, one day you will see the 4-digits appeared on the body of the fish which means you can rush to any 4-digits outlet to invest for your bright future. This is definitely part of our local Malaysian-Chinese custom tips.

    Local Customs: Underground Racing
  • Tip Rating:
  • These Super Car cultures are so popular nowadays probably due to the racing games created by EA Sports.

If you visit Kuala Lumpur, you can see these kind of modified car with huge spoiler, noisy exhaust pipe and trendy rims. These cars are just everywhere.

This is one of our latest Lumpuristic custom tips.

    Local Customs: Cultural Mix
  • Tip Rating:
  • We are a country come very late when all other super nations already established their strong cultures. For instance, the influence of Manchester United and other football clubs of Europe are the latest culture. Other influences like Hollywood movies, Islamic of Middle-East, Hong Kong movies, Taiwanese movies, Japanese fashion, American fast food and Coffee, skyscrapers and many more are today Orang KL punya culture lah.

Gambling is another culture. If you like gambling, the best and only place to go is Genting Highland Casino. Besides Genting Casino, MAGNUM, Sports TOTO and 3D the 4-digits are the only gambling games.

These 4-digits cultures are becoming part of our daily activities especially for addicted gamblers. I will tell you some interesting facts here. Whenever you see something with four digits for examples a car was hit by a motorcycle from the back and if you happen to walk pass to witness such happenings, that means you must quickly memorize the car's number plate, why? Hey it's money my friend, you will strike first prize of RM3000.00

That's our 4-digits culture. If you are a tourist, please remember public gamblings, prostitutions, porno videos or magazines, alcoholic drinks, ganjas and many more are illegals but don't worry, more yet to be explored.

    Local Customs: McDonald's
  • Tip Rating:
  • If you think I'm joking then you're wrong. Do you know how many McDonald's restaurants in only the area of Chinatown? Five, yes five McDonald's in just a Chinatown area. McDonald's is already part of our Lumpurese cultures undoubtedly.

Let me count for you, one in the location opposite of S&M shopping mall, one at Jalan Panggong next to Purple Cane tea shop, one at the location nearby Lebuh Ampang, one at Kotaraya shopphing mall and one at Central Market.

McDonald's has more than 50 locations in the city of Kuala Lumpur. Therefore I put it under our local cutom tips.

  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • Kuala Lumpur is a big city of commercial and money is so important. Funeral in Kuala Lumpur nowadays involved luxurious German Mercedes-Benz as shown in photo taken directly on the spot during the funeral day with five musicians performing the usual rites. This funeral rites taking place in front of the house of the dead person and normally the road has to be blocked entirely for 2 days for all the procedures done.

Local Customs: Hair coloring trend 4
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • This woman is almost look-alike European from her back view but when you walk front, you will be surprised that she is a non-exotic home grown muddy estuaristic local punya orwang, but wait, she may have own a passport somewhere faraway, so I could be wrong to claim she is a non-exotic individual.

Local Customs: Hair coloring trend 5
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • In a photo I snap from simply anywhere in Bukit Bintang area, I found almost every locals have a colorful hairstyle. Some very obvious some less, this local custom is very heat trendy in Kuala Lumpur. The trend came some 6 years back or more. From what I know, local Malaysians have to bleach the original black hair fisrt step, choose your favourite color (normally golden red with highlight), cost you around RM150 depends on customers' demand. Almost any hair saloons provide this service, if you want to be next.
