Tourist Trap: Biggest Bookshop is a trap
  • Tip Rating:
  • One of the biggest trap in KL.
This bookshop is about the size of Singapore, definately a big trap. Kinokuniya Book Shop is the largest bookshop in Malaysia, it will trap you for hours.

The location is easy, at 5th floor in Suria KLCC. Another big bookshop is MPH in Mid-Valley Megamall. This is another big one but slightly smaller than Kino.

If you like reading Chinese, Popular bookshop is local Chinese bookshop. Other language bookshops are rare in Malaysia, a few small bookstores of Indians, Malay Muslims bookstores.

    Tourist Trap: Public Phone
  • Tip Rating:
  • Kuala Lumpur - Our Public Phone Booth
  • Our Public Phone Booth
  • by l_joo
  • Send Photo to a Friend
  • Public Phone Booth is always a big trap, be careful. Do not expect to find anything like London's phone booth, you will never find any self promotional prostitute in Malaysian phone booth. But you can find personal advertisement of rooms to let, jobs available and sometimes posters of election.

The trap I want to show is, if you put in a 20 cents coin, it's consider swallowed and gone, that's it. But never give up, keep trying.

So I said, this is a trap, be careful, don't let it trap you down.

    Tourist Trap: A big trap
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • Once by looking, we can tell it is a trap. If you look carefully, this trap is just happened in a shape of a giant footstep, probably some kind of godzilla invaded this city or perhaps some jurassic age monsters have revived.

Alternative: Looks like we have to bypass it, otherwise.

    Tourist Trap: Men's warning tip
  • Tip Rating:
  • Imagine if you are not a super rich husband and your wife is in Kuala Lumpur's shopping heaven, it could be a nightmare for you and a trap too. For women, surely they are happy to shop this way with handful of latest up-to-date shoes, handbags, jewelries etc etc in big shoppers' bags.

    Tourist Trap: Duty Free
  • Tip Rating:
  • Recently there has been some complaints about the Duty Free Shops actually selling at higher prices than normal shops, at KL International airport KLIA (sorry for telling the truth). Yes it is true, already some peoples wrote to media regarding this expensive Duty Free thing.

Tourist Trap: New Library at Merdeka Square
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • New Library at Merdeka Square is probably another trap I want to warn tourists. This library is too new and too big located behind the National History Museum face to face with Merdeka Square. Fully air-conditioning, tourists can spending whole day inside for self trapping enjoyment.
