First Rated Page
I joined virtualtourist.com on the date Jan 31, 2001. No idea what to do yet, therefore I throw in a few lines of my Berlin memories. By absolutely surprise, I received a page rating from a member named slydevil. That member is now almost 800th in rank. But you know what, the day she rate my Berlin page, she was number 7. This Berlin is my first rated page.
My Berlin
The hostel guy arranged an artist room for 5 of us to share that night, probably no more rooms left. The moment we went in, the room was in complete chaos where blankets, pillows and mattress all in a mess. I saw a bowl on the basin fresh after eating. It must be the artist left minutes ago. Whatever it is, we (came together from a same bus but not travel companion) pull out our sleeping bags. So everyone has a bed space.
The room is very well maintained with a beautiful garden outside the glass windows. One the wall hangs a big piece of modern art, expressive styled probably Berlinýs great young artist. On the floor have numerous garden planning sketches, everything still fresh. Anymore this kind of rooms?
At night, I walk on the quiet street with all shops already closed as early as 8pm, that was Sunday if I not mistaken. I have nothing to do but only wandering. Found nothing to eat except some cold bakery. At last I decided to walk back to my artistic room to make my own Berlinerýs dinner. I discovered two packs of instant pastas on the kitchen shelf. I also see a functional stove, why not do it here. That has to be my Berlinersý cooking.
I did not stay long. The next day, I hopped on a bus heading to Czech. On the way to the old border into the former East Germany. I can recall some views especially when the bus rest at an eating station. Things look different definitely in the old communism way. Architectures obviously have wall paintings in big bulky characters of propaganda use I supposed, not sure because I donýt read German. I also remember walking into an old dark toilet. I saw an old German riding old poor bicycle. Very commies to me. Roads are in bad shapes and saw the Berlin wall for sure.
Joo completely forgotten about taking photos, so it is a blank.

You may want to check with the Virtual Tourist staff. Your Tips and pictures of Berlin seem to have dissappeared.
