Home of the Hakka Surrounding Houses, Yong Ding (not Yanting, unavailabale in VT location).

Tourists can take train/bus to Yong Ding, a small town, almost a village. Hourly buses are available to visit the HSH (expect bad buses). Distance is 50/60km, some 1 and half hour.

You can skip Yong Ding if you like, directly go to Xia Yang town or even go to stay at the HSH village. You can find billions of cheap hotels at the HSH village, even a backpacker guesthouse RMB50 only. Billions of small vans to take you to see the HSH each by each, charges depend on distance, around RMB50-200. Restaurant at HSH is not cheap because the think we are stupid tourists.

That means you can stay at Yong Ding, Xia Yang or directly at HSH village, they will let you stay anywhere as long as you show your money, easy.
