La Fabrique This restaurant is where I hostessed a dinner for 4 of my best guy friends, Vadim, Szymon, Jamil, and Johan and 1 new Kazakhstani friend, Madjar, on the occaision of Vadim's birthday. This well-designed restaurant has two floors (pleasant interior with lots of wood detailing), and can seat groups up to 8 people at one heavy, wooden table. The staff are friendly and the selection of food and drinks is excellent. After a great dinner (large proportions) and two rounds of cocktails, I brought out the Sacher Torte, and we sang a drunken rendition of Happy Birthday to brother Vadim. He blew out all the candles in one go. The dinner party was a success and the whipped cream went no further than the table top and chairs! After dinner, we just walked upstairs to the dancefloor.
Favorite Dish: Turkey Breast cutlets with spinach rice and a Seabreeze cocktail (or two!).

There are several underground restaurants and wine taverns in the city centre, Staré Mesto. Such cool underground wine taverns aren't found in any of the cities I've visited. That's me and Vadim to the left in the foto.
Favorite Dish: I'm not a big beans fan, but red beans covered in mushroom sauce with a bowl of creamy vegetable soup -- muito saboroso! Don't forget to drink some local beer and a glass of mineral water mixed with white wine. Finish off with a piece of Apple strudel, covered in whipped cream, icing sugar, and almonds.

Directions: Along many streets of the Stare Mesto, you'll find bars that look big enough to hold only 5 people -- looks are deceiving. If you go inside and turn a corner, you'll see that there are stairs leading

Restaurace U Bílého Lva (translated: The White Lion), a restaurant I had the pleasure of having my last luncheon at in August, and a special dinner with my best friend just recently. This is a beautiful restaurant / tavern in the 6th District of Praha, where I hostessed a luncheon for five best friends, on the occaision of welcoming Dani to Praha (It was the first time in over a year we had seen her!). The staff are friendly and efficient; the menu and drink selection is also impressive. The presentation of the dishes is very fine.
Favorite Dish: I ordered chicken steaks in potato pancake with salad and roasted potatoes. Dani enjoyed her rack of lamb (she enjoyed it greatly - poor Georgian girl flew from Portland over to Prague on Lufthansa!), while everyone else tried traditional Czech specialties. Everyone enjoyed glass-fulls from a bottle of specialty red house wine.
